Both pitched roof and flat roof PV systems can be designed with Virtuosolar.
For flat roofs the required keep-out zones from objects on the roof can be easily defined. This is needed for shadow free placement of the modules and for providing access to these objects for maintenance. Required edge zones as derived from a wind load study van also be defined.
Flat roof PV systems can be designed with the modules orientated to the south or to the east-west. For both layouts, Virtuosolar uses a standard mounting substructure that gives the 3D layout a realistic look.
Fixed or variable row distances
A south faced module layout can be generated with a fixed or variable row distance depending on the inclination angle and shadow angle of the modules.
In the 2D design, the rows and modules are numbered according to the customer preference.
